Junior Naturalist Club Excursion – Fort Ord Natural Reserve

Join us on January 19th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, for an exploration of the UC Santa Cruz Fort Ord Natural Reserve (UCSC FONR) in Marina, CA. This reserve is part of the University of California Natural Reserve System, which is a network of lands protected for research and education. We'll join forces with Joe Miller, Field Manager of UCSC FONR, as well as university student researchers, to learn about some of their exciting conservation work. We'll have the opportunity to explore the maritime chaparral and oak woodlands of this living laboratory, learning about reptile and amphibian monitoring methods on the reserve. Access to UCSC FONR is by reservation only. Join the club for more information and details regarding excursion locations and future meetings. To RSVP and receive details on carpooling and parking, contact the Museum's Education Programs Manager, Nick Stong or join the club.
