Sustainable Pacific Grove program:

As we face winter weather, we examine the prospect of sea-level rise and the likelihood of increasingly severe storms. Is our beautiful coast ready? Is our infrastructure at risk?
Our updated Land Use Plan and Local Coastal Program must address these urgent questions.

Prof. Gary Griggs (geologist, UCSC) will share his expertise of many years on coastal erosion and other dynamics of our shores. A panel of other experts will make for a lively discussion, with time for questions and answers.

This meeting is a free public program and can provide useful background information for the City of Pacific Grove's upcoming November 20th coastal workshop.
