Western Monarch Count Volunteer Training

Begin your training as a community science volunteer for the Western Monarch Count! This volunteer program tracks the population of monarch butterflies in Monterey County, providing invaluable data for pollinator protections across the country.

To become a Western Monarch Count volunteer, there is a 2-part training:

  1. Wednesday, September 17, 5:30 - 7:30 pm: a virtual introduction led by the Xerces Society of Invertebrate Conservation (Zoom link provided at registration)

  2. Saturday, October 18, 10:30 - 11:30 am: an in-person field training at the Monarch Sanctuary (250 Ridge Road, Pacific Grove CA, 93950), led by PG Museum Education staff

To sign up as a volunteer and register, use the links below! Contact our Volunteer Coordinator with any questions.
