Join the Museum’s Monarch Docent team! At the beautiful Pacific Grove Monarch Sanctuary, be a volunteer to inspire visitors to take action to help monarch butterflies. Find monarch clustering or fluttering in the nectar beds, and share the wonder of the magnificent monarch butterfly.

To become a Monarch Docent, you must join the Monarch Docent Training. The 2025 training consists of two parts:
Wednesday, September 23, 5:30 - 7:30 pm: a virtual lecture on monarch butterfly natural history and conservation
Saturday, September 26, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm: an in-person orientation to the Monarch Sanctuary and interpretive tools for docents
