Women in Science Tea

Join us for a special afternoon with a panel of incredible women in science and STEAM! Our panel will discuss their journeys into their respective fields and answer moderator and audience questions while everyone enjoys tea and light snacks. This will be a wonderful celebration of the work of women leading in their respective fields, and everyone who wants to listen, learn, and enjoy is very welcome.
Our fantastic panel consists of:
Dr. Adina Abeles, Senior Staff Research Scientist, Biohub and Research Fellow, Politics and Social Change Lab, Stanford University
Sophie De Beukelaer, National Permit Coordinator, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Erin E. Hunter, Science Illustrator & Fine Artist
Dr. Kristen Maitland, Senior Program Manager, Biohub, and Adjunct Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University
Franca Surprenant, Associate Scientist, Ohalo Genetics

Cost: $10 for Museum Members, $15 General, $5 Student Grade 6-12
Registration: Required as space is limited
Location: At the Museum
Age Range: 11 and above
What to Expect: The afternoon will begin with tea and snacks, followed by an introduction of speakers and an opportunity to hear what they do and how they got there, followed by time for audience questions. Cute hats and tea attire is fun but not required!
Accessibility: Pathways and tables will be fully accessible.
Duration: 1.5 hours
