Lecture: Our Beaches and Dunes at the Edge of the Sea

Over the past 30 years, coastal biologist David Shonman has focused on understanding our region's beaches and dunes. They are enjoyed by residents and visitors as places of beauty and recreation; they also provide habitats for a variety of species that are able to thrive in challenging environmental conditions. Join David as he weaves a story about how the wind, waves, ocean currents, and rivers interact with plants and animals (including people) to create, maintain and sometimes damage these simple but intriguing coastal systems.

Admission is $5 and free for Museum members.
