Collecting Wildflowers for the Show

Each year, about 30 dedicated members of the Monterey Bay California Native Plant Society spend a week scouring the Central Coast region looking for the broadest examples of wildflower species and varieties for the Wildflower Show.

Weather plays a major role in what these naturalists find and collect and the flower numbers and varieties vary from year to year. Specific flower collection sites are not released to protect the wildflowers from over-collecting.
