Join  the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History and Sustainable Pacific Grove for a special event launching the new book "Ed Ricketts from Cannery Row to Sitka, Alaska," on Thursday, December 10, beginning at 7 p.m. 

This illustrated collection, which includes an essay written by Ricketts about a ten-week voyage along the Pacific Coast to southeast Alaska, is edited by University of Alaska whale biologist Janice Straley. Besides the "Wave Shock Essay" written by Ricketts, other contributions to the book include essays by noted scientists, researchers and Alaska writers. The book was published by Shorefast Editions on November 15th. 
Speakers for the event will include Jan Straley, John Straley, John Pearse and Katie Rodgers. A book signing will follow the speakers.
