The First Methodist
Church was located on Lighthouse Avenue between 17th & 18th
streets.
At the time this photo was taken, E.P. Dennett was the pastor.
Building construction began in 1888,
and the church was dedicated in 1889. The Assembly Hall was used
for a variety of purposes,
including community events, Chautauqua meetings, and annual Methodist
conferences.
