Travelling Exhibits


The Museum has several travelling exhibits and learning kits which are available to schools free of charge:

Lyme Disease in California by Dr. Robert S. Lane, UC Berkeley.

This exhibit consists of 8 color photos and 9 text panels that explain how our local ticks can potentially transmit this debilitating disease from wild animals to humans, and how to avoid becoming infected.

Diversity Endangered from the Smithsonian Institution.

This exhibit consists of 15 poster panels and an outstanding video that examine the worldwide loss of biological diversity.

"Killer" Bees from the P.G. Museum of Natural History.

This satellite exhibit is a free-standing, self-contained exhibit that examines the spread of "killer" bees into the United States. Facts and myths about the danger of these harmful insects are discussed.

Pine Pitch Canker from the P.G. Museum of Natural History.

This satellite exhibit is a free-standing, self-contained exhibit that discusses current facts and information about the spread of Pine Pitch Canker, a fungal disease that threatens our Monterey Pine forests.

Monarchs from the P.G. Museum of Natural History.

This satellite exhibit is a free-standing, self-contained exhibit that discusses the life cycle and migration of the Monarch Butterfly.

Women in Science Learning Series from Wonderwise.

These hands-on learning kits include a CD-ROM and activity guides for the following: Sea Otter Biologist, African Plant Explorer, Pollen Detective, Parasite Sleuth, and Rainforest Ecologist.
